First let me say I would never pay as much as this is listed for ($79). I paid $25, regular price at the orange home improvement store. The overall product is nice. The light inside of it is not very bright, so if that is the only decoration you have out there, don't expect to see it from the road in the dark. The one thing I did not realize, is you have to have a covered receptacle for this. So I had to go out and buy a yard stake with a cover on it to keep the plug from getting wet in the snow, since the cord is short and would not reach up on the porch. Not a big deal, most people who do a lot of outdoor decorating probably already have some sort of weatherproofing system going on. It seems good quality, and came with everything needed. I love that the blower is built right in. You just plug and go!
I'm saying up front that I am sending this item back. I ordered this for outside my Grandson's window, and to help fill up our large front yard. The item arrived safe, and very quickly, so I have no issues there. We have several air blown decorations for other holidays, so I am familiar with how they work and are set up. I pulled the parts out of the box, and was surprised to see that the power cord was in 2 pieces.
I looked at the directions and saw that the end of the cord needs to be screwed together, like it would have had options for other types of plug ends. The part where you screw the plug together is VERY cheaply made. there is a plastic cap that is supposed to cover the connection, but it in no way looks water tight. I doubt that it would hold up to a light dew. I looked at the ballon part and it looked small, so I inflated it, it was small enough to fit on my dining room table. It may be 4 feet tall, but it is small, and the LEDs dont really light the whole decoration, so from about 20 feet away it looks like a big white ball.
The LED in Snoopy's nose overpowers the one in the red doghouse. This decoration might be ok for an indoor display, or part of a larger themed display, but it would get lost by itself. The design is cute, but not worth the money. Had this been in the $20-$30 range I might have been ok with it, but I have much much larger ones that I didnt pay nearly as much for. In summary, the design of the electrical plug is the main issue, and because of the size, I'm giving it only 2 stars.
I Love Snoopy and my husband bought this for me for my birthday, which my birthday is right before Christmas. Very nice and it was here within 4 day from ordering.
